Doors to Freedom has been established to provide a safe place for survivors of sex trafficking to experience a transformed life. Play an important part by joining us in our efforts to spread the message and gain support. Here are several ways you can partner with us to help survivors of sex trafficking.
We also have a running list of things needed for our home outside of furniture. We need items for our program, our girls, and our office! Call us if you need to schedule a pick-up/drop-off.
We have had great success with individuals hosting a yard sale for Doors to Freedom. If interested in being a host home or organizing this event please click the below link to obtain additional information.
#SAVE1 is a great way to help us raise funds to purchase a home. Put your $1 bills in a #SAVE1 jar for 30 days. Every 30 days empty your jar and deposit your cash and give the total saved online through our web-site.
Did you know that every time you make a purchase from Amazon you can choose to support Doors to Freedom at no cost to you? Go to smile.amazon.com, choose Doors to Freedom as the charity you’d like to support, and 0.5% of your purchase will go directly towards us. That’s it! You can use your current Amazon account and you’ll find the exact same prices online, just make sure you login to smile.amazon.com to support Doors to Freedom.
Another way to help financially is to organize your own fundraiser in your community. Whether it is a bake sale, a luncheon, or a 5K race, use your creativity and interests to raise money for Doors to Freedom. The possibilities are endless, so be creative!
BE A VOICE
Spread the word and raise awareness – Most people in the U.S. are unaware that sex trafficking is happening right in their own back yards. It is possible that you pass by these victims and situations in your day-to-day routine without even realizing it. By increasing awareness, we can help more victims be free from this horrific abuse. Share the facts about sex trafficking and the work being done by Doors to Freedom using your Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or your personal blog.
Lead discussions with your family and friends and let them know how to recognize the signs. The NHTRC is a 24-hour, 7 day a week toll-free hotline operated by Polaris and their phone number is 1-888-3737-888. You can also contact your local law enforcement. If someone is in immediate danger, you should call 911.
Contact your state representatives and ask what they’ve done to stop sex trafficking in your state. To find out who your local legislators are, click here. You can also visit polarisproject.org for addittional information on Sex Trafficking.
