Our Program

While living in Doors to Freedom's home, each resident will have the opportunity to work through our three-phase program. Every phase was developed through a therapeutic lens to increase the opportunity for success. 

Phase One lasts the first 6-8 weeks of a resident entering the program. During Phase One, the new resident will get to know Doors to Freedom while we get to know her. She will go through our complete intake and assessment process. The intake and assessment process includes completion of all intake forms, Orientation/Tour of the facility, review of the Resident’s Manual, Strengths and Struggles Assessment, Safety Assessment, and Life Skills and Education Assessments. An Individualized Growth Plan is created and presented to each resident prior to moving into Phase Two.

Phase Two is unique to each individual and the amount of time they need to complete their Individualized Growth Plan (IGP). The length of this phase can last up to 12-24+ months (Younger residents may need additional time to complete their education). During Phase Two, she will learn how to develop life-changing habits while obtaining her High School Diploma through our accredited private school, or she can choose to pursue her GED. In order to progress to Phase Three, the resident must successfully complete her IGP.

Phase Three is a celebration of her accomplishments. It is unique to the individual and her family. When transitioning back to her biological family or foster family, Doors to Freedom will provide support for up to 6 months. Doors to Freedom and her therapeutic team will assist in establishing safety nets with her and her family.
